What you'll do

The same dhow, the same crew and the same bay as Safari Blue, with nobody else on board. You set the time you leave, how long you stay on the sandbank, whether you snorkel twice or not at all, and what is cooked for lunch.

  • Nobody else on the boat
  • Your own departure time, not the tide table’s idea of one
  • A menu agreed with the cook beforehand
  • Sunset return at no extra cost

The day, hour by hour

  1. YoursPickup from your hotel

Anywhere on the island. We work backwards from the time you want to sail.

  2. +1 hrSail from Fumba

Briefing, then out through the mangrove channel with the whole deck to yourselves.

  3. OpenReef, sandbank and lagoon, in whatever order suits

Captain Hamisi will tell you what the tide allows, then you choose. Two snorkels or none.

  4. YoursBack to Fumba and your hotel

Most charters stay out for the sunset. It costs nothing extra.

Good to know before you book

  • $620 covers the boat and up to 12 people. Thirteen is a different boat and a different price.
  • Free cancellation up to 48 hours before, rather than 24 — we hold a whole boat for you.
  • Birthdays, proposals and wakes are all things we have done. Tell us and we will help.
  • The sandbank still depends on the tide, whatever we charge you.

Questions people ask

Is it cheaper to book Safari Blue seats for a group of eight?
Yes — eight adults on Safari Blue is $680, so at $620 the charter is slightly less and the boat is yours. Below six people the shared trip is cheaper.
Can we bring our own food and drink?
Your own drink, yes. Food we would rather cook, because the galley is a charcoal grill on a wooden boat and we would rather run it ourselves.
